looking for a solution that will allow me to utilize single onboard motherboard sata port to multiple sata drives maybe some kind of adaptor? No need for raid compatability. Is there a solution for this without purchaseing pci; pcix; or pcie add on card?

Not possible. There is no way to convert a single sata port into multiple ports. You would need an add on card.

Perhaps a usb to sata adapter may help you but you will be running at slower usb speeds.

You may want to look at this. It is a Sata/Esata/usb HPM (hardware Port Mutliplier) takes 4 Sata Dirves and raids them and makes the computer only see one drive. supports raid 0,1,5,jbod

Your chipset has to support it. here is a chart with some chipsets listed. look under the PMP column. Other than that, you'll need a device with a bridge that supports port multipliers, sort of like the Thermaltake BlacX duet HDD dock.
