Won't power off

I just picked up an ASUS m4a7t-e to replace my XFX 750a. I'm also running a phenom II 720 , 4 G patriot DDR3, and an xfx 9800gt on windows 7.

Problem is when I shut off the computer via windows or the power button, windows will shut down and the display will turn off but all the fans are still running and the power light is still on. I have to hold the power button down to shut it off.

Anyone have any ideas on why this would happen?

Is it possible you changed the OS shutdown option to some sort of "standby" instead of shutdown?
