Crackling noise from speakers

K, heres what happened:

I was playing a game on my Vostro 1000 and suddenly it crashed, and when i say crashed i mean like, wouldnt startup. when i finally got it to startup again it seemed like it was fine until i saw this "30 Day Trial" screen. idk what software it is talking about. i have XP Home Edition full version, i'm looking at the disk right now. after i clicked "OK" the computer started normaly. when i logged in to my account 5 mins into a report i heard this crackling noise coming from my speakers. i looked all over the net for an answer but i'm just not finding it. its a laptop so i dont have easy access to the hardware on the inside. and also, when i restart the computer it goes back to when it crashed. so when i uninstall something i dont want and i restart the computer it is back.

any help would be appreciated.
