help me find a laptop for a serious gamer please.

I'm currently in the market for a laptop, but i'm a hardcore gamer and
need to be able to play all the latest FPS (and other games) on the
laptop. I'm pretty familiar with components, building my own desktops
for years, but am in unfamiliar territory when it comes to laptops,
having only thinkpads and such through my office.
what do people recommed for gaming laptops?
i've heard some manufacturers are coming out with laptops with
upgradable GPUs, and this sounds like a pretty good idea considering i
swap out vid cards a lot as needed to keep slightly ahead of the curve
in my desktops.
i'd prefer to go with a top tier manufacturer, and somewhat price
sensitive, but not overly so (you can't be that price sensitive if you
are gamer hungry for good performance for your games, eh?).

so do people have any suggestions for partucular manufacturers and
particular models of laptops? as much detail as you can summon would
be great, i like to hear what people have to say on this topic before
i shell out for this.

There are lots to choose from. For hardcore gaming there is
www.voodopc.com and www.alienware.com, but you pay a premium for them.
Dell has the gaming specific XPS, which is also expensive, but they also
have the more down to earth 9100, which I have owned for a week now with
no complaints. It has a nice screen with no bad pixels and it was
delivered in exactly one week. Battery life is just about 2 hours. As
far as I can tell, it is probably the best bargain going in gaming right
now. Also check out www.sagernotebook.com. By all accounts they are well
made and not too terribly expensive.
