Question is...I am looking for a good reliable network throughput tester. I have used qcheck, iperf, jperf, NetCPS and a few other miscelaneous testers I have searched for and none of them seem to give me the answer I am looking for.

Here is my problem. I have 2 laptops connected together with a Cat6 cable, both with Gigabit interfaces. Not going through a router/switch/hub or anything. Directly connected to eachother. When I perform speedtests with each software I only get 200 Mbps give or take 10 Mbps. Now when I do the same test as a loopback I get upwards of 970 Mbps. I have been playing with this all morning so if anyone has any suggestions or ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, both Gig cards are manually set to 1 Gig Full Duplex.

Thank you,
Justin
