Alright i have a Gigabyte P55-UD3R mobo and i have the front panel audio hooked up to the HD front panel cord.

i have headphones that ive tried in the front and back audio ports. front port, left is right, right is left, very annoying. back port works fine.

is there anything i can do about this short of rewiring my front panel audio cord?(and turning headphones 180 degrees, need to use mic)

If it helps i have a raidmax smilodon case

this is causing quite the headache lol :??:

My case had one wire with two heads coming down from the front audio ports... one was AC97 and the other was labeled HD Audio. My motherboard's default was HD Audio so I obviously went with that one and everything was fine for me. Yes, having the audio reversed would be VERY annoying... perhaps this applies to you. Perhaps you should go look in your BIOS to see whether you have it defined as AC97 or HD Audio... either way it couldn't hurt to try the other.
