Asus P7P55 LX keeps shutting down system shortly after turning it on.

Hi, I am in the process of building my first computer with the Asus P7P55 LX mobo. I installed the hardware and it POSTs and goes to the BIOs like it should but as I am configuring them it cutsoff. I am not sure what the problem is.I managed to get to the temperature area of the bios before it shutdown and it is nowhere near the set cutoff levels, the psu seems to work just fine because it keeps the light on the mobo on even when it shutdowns so I am not sure what it is
anyway the specs are:
Kingwin Mach 1 1000 watt psu
P7P55 LX Mobo
Corsair 1600 mhz 2gb(X4)DIMMs
EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX +
I am not sure if any of this is relevant but yeah..
any help would be greatly appreciated!

  1. ok so I am a little slow today lol... I figured it out. It was the temp. rising too high. It turns out my heatsink wasn't properly attached, now it is running just fine.
