Hi,

I just finished building a PC, which uses this card.

I know that the card uses the RALINK RT2500 chipset. I downloaded and installed the Ralink RT2500 drivers, and manually setup the card using the Windows 7 Device Manager.

The card was working perfectly until I decided to remove it from its PCI slot, and the booted up the PC.

Windows 7 still detects the card, but tells me that there was an error in installing the drivers.

I uninstalled and re-installed the RALINK drivers. This has not solved the problem.

Can someone please give me some advice here.

Thanks.

May be a resource issue. Try a different PCI slot.

If no joy, go into BIOS and disable ports you won't be using -- COM, Game/Midi, Parallel Printer (if using USB printer). Restart Windows to reassign resources.

Hi Fihart

Thanks for your help.

I removed the drivers, shutdown the computer, took the wifi card out of the pci slot and rebooted the computer.

I then removed all registry entries associated with the pci card.

I shutdown the computer again, re-installed the card, rebooted and re-installed the driver.

Everything works as before!!!

Cheers
