I have windows Xp home edition

I cannot connect to the internet because windows firewall won't enable. I have manually tried to start windows firewall.
I have checked for viruses and none.

A disabled Windows firewall will not prevent the computer from connecting to the Internet.

Check your Network card properties and verify you have Client for Microsoft Networks service and TCP/IP showing and checked.

You may have other problems, but start there and see if it helps.

I checked the network settings the client for microsoft netowrks and internet protocol (TCP/IP) are both checked.

Still no connection. Do you have any other suggestions?
