Hello peoples, i need help upgrading my pc to play the latest games. Here are my system specs:

Phenom II 940
gigabyte 790x
1tb hard drive
630 watt rosewill
ati 3870
8gb ram
19" monitor max res: 1440x900

I want the absolutely best components i can afford for my pc, i think everything i have is good except video card and power supply. i want to spend about $400-460* on the parts. My motherboard supports crossfire so i think that might be the best choice for me. So, which two cards and power supply can i buy for my price range? thanks. :sol:

You do not need crossfire or more than 512megs for that resolution. Read http://www.tomshardware.com/review [...] ,2428.html to see for your self.

Get a new monitor, things will look much nicer. Also, you wont need more then a quality 550/600w to run either of those gpu's if you don't plan on crossfiring.

I'm thinking new gfx card, ATI 5 series if you can afford it and if your PSU is strong enough. Otherwise maybe a 4890 and new PSU, OC the 940 and you should be good. Other thing you could do, 4870 at 150ish, new PSU maybe an OCZ or antec, skip crossfire and pick yourself up a 22 inch monitor. That will make a lot of difference.
