Video Card Problem?

Hello,
I've had a 9800 GT video card in my computer for about a year now. I started playing The Sims 3 and the computer shut off and would not come back on at all. It turned out that by replacing the video card with a 250 GTS, the problem was solved. Then again I started The Sims and the same thing happened. On both occasions by turning the power supply off and on, the computer would try to start but failed. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah it would have been hard for me to not tear my PSU out of my computer and smash it with a sludge hammer if I was you.

That or it could be extremely bad luck. Doubtful, but possible.
