Hi, my video card stopped working overnight ~2 weeks ago, the fan is not working anymore. I've checked every cables/connections, removed dust, nothing works.

The computer starts, but the card doesn't, the screen stay black.

Here's my comp:
Windows XP Pro 64 bit
ASUS P5Q Pro
OCZ GamerXStream 600W
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Diamond Radeon HD4870
G.SKILL 2x2048MB PC6400
SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Value
Samsung 226BW (1680x1050)

I sent a ticket to Diamond's tech support for a replacement, but it was 2 weeks ago, it's pretty damn long, so I'm wondering if it might only be the fan not working anymore. I want to buy a second-hand fan/cooler to try it (even if it doesn't work, I can still use it on my next card) or else I might buy another 4870 from Sapphire.

If its just the fan, the card would still boot up and the computer screen would not stay black. The card should boot up, but depending on how fast the card got hot, ithe computer would them shut down once the card temps reached to high of temps.

I'm sure if the card isn't booting the card is bad, and you will have to RMA it, or get a new one.
