Overclocking in Afterburner

I recently bought a R6950 Twin Frozr III, and begin overclocking in MSI Afterburner. My problem is that it limits the OC to no further than 900/1350. I would like to unlock this so that I can OC my card further. I have tried going in the cfg file and editing it, but whenever I try to save it in notepad, it just says "Access is Denied" Does anyone know how to fix this?

More about overclocking afterburner
  1. Sapphire TRIXX, try this instead.
  2. Can I ask one more question though?
I'm using MSI Afterburner to change the voltage, but even when I change the voltage slider, it doesn't work. It's stuck on 1.15v. How do I fix this?
  3. Just cut and paste the cfg file to your desktop, make the changes then copy it back.
  4. Thankyou, that worked, but i still cant control my voltage. Even if I unlock voltage control and move the slider, it doesnt change the voltage. How do I fix this?
  5. Are you sure your card can make use of voltage changes? Here's a link that might help.

  6. hmm....The picture is a bit hard to follow, do you think you might be able to clarify a bit?
  7. Wait, I managed to follow the instructions correctly, but it didn't work :/
  8. Oh, thanks henydiah, I already had that page saved to my favorites :D
I decided I wouldn't attempt an unlock until I absolutely needed to, as I don't want to take the risk, since there isn't any dual bios switch.
