Hello, I'm currently running :

CPU : Intel i7-930 2.9ghz - Watercooled
Mobo : p6x58d premium
RAM : F3-12800CL7-2GBPI 7-8-9-7-24-2T
GFX : ATI Radeon HD 5970

I'm getting back into OC'ing as having a stock i7-930 watercooled isn't cool.

I would like to know more about the options that are available.
Please do correct me and inform me if anything is wrong or could be explained better.

CPU Voltage : Guess only the heat limits you here.

CPU PLL Voltage: Don't know much about this one or its limit or purpose.

QPI/DRAM Core Voltage : Think it has something to do with the Data Transfer between the GPU and CPU, must be within 0.5v of DRAM Voltage (i think)

IOH Voltage : Think it had something to do with the North or South Bridge.

ICH Voltage : Same as above. Not sure limits and purpose.

IOH PCIE Voltage : Don't think those should be touched, not sure about purpose.

ICH PCIE Voltage : Same as above.

DRAM Bus Voltage : Limit is 1.65v for intel cpu's or so, not sure if you can exceed that without damaging anything.

Load-Line Calibration : Not sure what this one does.

CPU Differential Amplitude : Same as above.

CPU Clock Skew : Delaying stuff, not sure how to use it properly.

CPU Spread Spectrum : Heard it should be disabled, not sure why.

IOH Clock Skew : Same as the CPU Clock Skew.

PCIE Spread Spectrum : Heard it should be disabled, not sure why.

It's a lot of help I need, I know that. But if some nice people would give me some time and explain these things to me, it would be highly appreciated. Ask if anything and thanks for even reading this :)

Thank you, much appreciated.

I only stand back with a single question mark now.

What is the safe limit of the CPU PLL Voltage? I can't find it anywhere on google. Is it only the heat that limits you here aswell?

Make sure that you turn on Load Line calibration because that will give you the same voltage under higher loads and in short make the CPU run stabler.

The PLL Voltage should be set lower than 1.6 that's about the max it should go up to. It's not only temperature limits on voltage though but that is basically what you have to worry about.

Don't touch anything that you don't know what it does unless a specific guide told you too. read some overclocking guides for the i7--900 series processor with your Mobo before you get in to far and you should do okay.

Good Luck and Have Fun!
