I just ordered 2 E5506 cpu's and I was just reading that the fan's aren't included in the box. Luckily I have some I7 original intel fan's laying around. Will those fit since both are LGA 1366 ?

I reado somewhere that i7 cpus / sockets have a different mounting proceedure to secure the heatsink to the Xeons. Now Im pretty sure if you can find a fan attachment that will work with the heatsink there should be no problem.

i7's use the poxy push pin method.... Xeons had a plate mounted on the rear of the mobo / cpu socket with the HS bolts onto.

Thanks!! You just saved me a lot of time and trial and error! It's very frustrating that E5xxx's don't come with fans or heatsinks. Do you know where I can get them? All the ones I have found are high-end and are like $50 a piece. I need a bunch of them since it's for 4 servers with 2 cpu's each (8 total).
