I'm on Windows 7 RC with a 7600GT. Whenever I change a setting in the Nvidia Control Panel, as soon as I click 'Apply', the changes I made go back to their defaults. I can't make any changes in the control panels. I've tried all of the archived drivers that Nvidia has on their page, betas and WHQL versions. None have been working.

What should I do to fix this problem. Should I clean out the drivers and re-install the latest one? Is it just an RC issue?

Nvidia did not come out with an SLI capable driver for my 6800 ultras for a good 90 days after launch. When one of my GPU's died, I gave up on Nvidia. PPCS (piss-poor customer service) will do that, at least for me. I was quite willing to put up with their crappy drivers, and did, all through the alpha and beta releases as building a driver for a moving target would be a tall ask. But 90 days after launch? They had almost 6 months prior to retail launch after the RTM was released, so waiting three quarters of a year to release a production WHQL driver was just inexcusable. Creative was almost as bad...

i'm pretty sure for win 7, nvidia cards are more stable using the driver from windows update (if it can find one). Nvidia drivers made the vista launch appear buggy and unstable (not all issue but significant) and i bet its a similar case

That driver doesn't work either, but I'm wondering if it's because I went back and forth between the driver from windows update and the drivers from the Nvidia site.

It's nice to hear ATI got their RTM drivers done already. I think I'll be switching to ATI for my next build anyway. The thing that bugs me is that the Nvidia drivers are listed as WHQL for Windows 7, but they don't actully work with it. That's some nice testing they have for their customers. Why do they even have the WHQL label if it doesn't mean anything?

Hi, I have the same problem. I have a RTM final release of windows 7 and the G-force 8800 gts card.
When I start a game, It doesn't go automatically in widescreen full screen mode. I change a setting (Use Nvidia scaling) in the Nvidia Control Panel, as soon as I click 'Apply', the changes I made go back to their defaults. Could someone help me?
