my uncle has a hp pavalion 542 computer and he got the mal-ware which blocked everything and about 20 viruses and i cant restore or go into safe mode or anything at all... Im running XP Pro. When i boot up the computer it runs and gets to the home screen backround and the start bar and icons dont appear. task manager doesnt show up. Can anyone help me out with this? i would appreciate this very much

Unfortunately, you may need to reformat and reinstall everything. And this time, use current antivirus software. There are several free packages available.
