E8200 and GTX 260 3dMark06 score: normal?

Hi guys,

I recently installed BFG Geforce GTX 260 OC Core 216 896 MB to my system and got around 12500 on 3dMark06 trial version with the following system:

Intel C2D E8200 at stock freq 2.66 MHz
4 GB PNY DDR2 800 SDRAM
Antec Earthwatts 650 W PSU
some Gigabyte G41 chipset motherboard

From simple searching the web.. it seems like my result is too low compared to others who run their 8800 GTS and still seem to be getting higher results. Is my score normal or is there something wrong with my system? Is 3dMark06 really that CPU intensive?

Sounds right to me.
One of my systems consists of an E4300 oc'd to 2.4 and a 192 core GTX 260, it scores around 11,300.

I agree with DellUser1, your score is about right.
Do n't use 3D Mark to do more than compare your machine to your machine when overclocking: It is far to sensitive to small changes in spec to do much more.
If you want to bump it up the best way is to overclock the CPU: My score jumped 2,000+ points for a 600 MHz (2.4 to 3.0 GHz) overclock on my E6600.
