Title basically says it all. Ive tried to but/use an optical to coax converter with no success. the deal is i need coax spdif because its already wired around my walls. right now theres a toslink trailing across the floor from the computer to the closet where i keep stereo. I just want to output a digital signal and because I dont know much about sound -I'm worried taht id pick a crap daughter-sound card board. My reciever will do the decoding and I'd like to spend as little as possible. any thoughts?

make sure you selected the right output on your system/os to make sure its sending out sound, also that you have installed the latest drivers for your audio etc

also there is no guarantee when converting eg optical to coax etc - depends on your setup

Its def not the drivers -ive bought a new card an now have a new problem -started a thread at the top
