Memory for AMD...

Greetings,

I just purchased the Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4 and an AMD X4 965 CPU combo. What brands of memory that are compatible with this mobo/cpu combo? I heard the OCZ is having a lot of problems with AMD, is it true?

I think any DDR3 RAM will work fine in it.
OCZ,Crucial,Geil,... are good brands,how much do you want to spend and also are you going to OverClock too ?

My gigabyte the 790FX-UD5P,,seems to really like either Crucial or G-Skill,tried some Kingston ,, was not appreciated,, which is weird as Kingston tests each and every stick that they sell..I have ,,in the past used OCZ with an AMD cpu on an Asus M2NE,which was not even on the approved vendors list,,just be sure that you can return the product if your system does not like it....

I play WOW and that's the only pc game I play. Besides that, I watch sports and movies on my pc. I won't be oc it. But if I get the mem that can be oc, I wouldn't mind oc'ing them hehe. Thx for your reply.

Ocz's amd black edition ram works very good with amd processors

It'll be awhile before we'll see some sales on mem again especially crucial and G-skill. I'll stay away from OCZ just to be on the safe side.
