Hi, I have an Intel E6600 dual core cpu and an ATI X-1950Pro video card. I mostly play games and surf the net. Should I wait until the 32nm processors arrive to upgrade ?

Would I really see a difference ?

Not really; a video card upgrade would make more sense. And 4 gb of memory seems to be the sweet spot for most vista users. With a high end video card, you may also need to upgrade the power supply; good ones are $60 up; $100 is more realistic.

Thank you for your input. I have upgraded my power supply a month ago to a ModXstream-Pro 600w from OCZ. But my mother board is an Asus P5B-E which I managed to overclock at 3058mhz on air alone. If I buy a new video card will my board take it and make a difference since it has only a PCI-Express 1.0 slot and not 2.0 ?

Yes. The pci-e 2.0 cards should work. Most people don't notice the difference between the performance of pci-1.0 and 2.0, so it's not worth changing the motherboard just for this feature.

Good ! Then maybe I will install Windows 7 when it's out and purchase a 128 SSD OCZ Vertex Series. A good Radeon 4870 to top it off and I will be set for another Year !

I am running

AthlonXP 2400
1.25GB DDR RAM
Radeon 9600

should I upgrade or wait for 32nm processors to arrive?

I would buy a new dual core, how high is the e6600 clocked to? Lol if it is not 2.8ghz or 3ghz then upgrade it to a higher cpu. Unless you have yours overclocked and is happy with the speed it is currently at
