Remember the 8800GT? Remember the 9800GT? Remember when nVidia wasnt going to rename the 9800GT to the GT240? Guess the managers were stuck with some

got out the whips on their renaming team, and voila

Splendid
I had a 9800gt at 675mhz core 6 months ago, my best friend had an 8800gt bought 2 years ago with the same 675mhz core. The memory looks a very small amount faster. The shaders seem to be upped a bit though.

It's a lot closer to a 9800gt than anything else.

this thread is very old and has no relevance to your question now. but anyway, it should run ok on medium-high detail so long as you have at least a 3ghz core 2 duo or preferably a fast quad core. i had to overclock my 2.4ghz core 2 duo to 3ghz to get good framerates. this is with an 8800gts which is roughly equivelant to a gt240. but a gt240 is a low end card now, imo you should aim for a gts250/gts450 or better.
