O.k. this is my issue

I am using an AT&T router and a D-link 8-port gigabit switch (unmanaged). Everything attached (pc's) to the d-link switch works fine. Internet etc.. , but there is another computer located in another location that will not get internet access. This is for a restuarant and that is the pos computer. It is attached to i assume is another unmanaged switch on the wall before it runs to the d-link. When I insert the cable that comes from that switch into the d-link it will connect, but will not open the internet. I assume it is getting routed from the computer to the first switch then to the d-link and cannot locate the actual router.

I have actually plugged the ethernet from the unmanaged switch connected to the computer directly into a router and it works just fine. On dhcp shows internet.

I cant unfortunatly just move the router to that location though.

I have tried putting a static ip with the routers default address, but it will not show an internet page.

Is it because of the two unmanaged switches?

the default address for the router is:192.168.1.254
when I put the ethernet cable from the switch to the dlink and do dhcp the default is: 192.168.168.168 and I assume that is the d-links default?
