My 7 year old desktop has finally bitten the dust, so its time to get something new

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within the week

BUDGET RANGE: US $700-800 (Lower the better

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, Surfing the web, maybe watch movies

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com

PARTS PREFERENCES: Im leaning more toward AMD right now

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe down the road

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1680x1050 LG L227WTG-PF Black 22" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I'd like to keep it reasonably quiet :sleep:

I'm a bit nervous about the 790X chipset right now because the Cyberpower that was reviewed here at TH used one and seemed to be handicapped.

Since those are both crossfire boards, how about a nice 4870 1GB? Performance is about the same, the price is right, and since you saved a bit on the board maybe you will be able to buy a PSU that can support another 4870 in the future:
