Pixelization of TiVo Recordings with Sonic MyDVD

I've used the MyDVD software to burn a DVD of the super bowl halftime show
to DVD. Now I recorded this with the best quality setting from the TiVo.
It's only 14 minutes of video so I though that the DVD quality would be
excellent. But it pixelated the recording, so much so that it's even
visible on a normal def TV.

I've also used this software to burn A DVD of a Star Trek fan film (source
files as mpeg and windows media) without the pixelization.

Is this something the software does with copyrighted TiVo material, or am I
missing a setting somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated.
