Recently been trying to get a good system. I've come up with the exact parts I need on overclockers.co.uk and when i'm finally set to order, I hit on a bunch of reviews on the net. It seems there are a LOAD of bad reviews about the OC UK after-sales service. that sucks cos scan/ebuyer/tekheads just dont have ALL the parts I need. but those who've actually tried returning stuff to OC UK seem to be in agreement that their service is the most appalling thing out there.
Does anyone have any good suggestions for retailers? I'll add my list of parts that I'm looking for. I'm not here looking for build advice. I'm fine with all the components chosen. Would just like a decent place to get these from. The processor/mainboard/graphics card/monitor/hard disk are pretty much fixed (However, I'd be fine if your link only included the 3d Vision bundle rather than Just the 3D monitor - was planning on getting the 3d glasses from amazon for £99). I suppose I can live with crappier RAM, an alternate SLI PSU (may be getting a second card in a few months), and basically any cheap keyboard/dvd-rw.
thanks.
Also if you think those OC UK reviews are pretty much overreacting and you've had excellent after-sales service from OC UK, please do speak up. I'd still love to buy from them, but after reading the reviews, I feel sick to the gut.
Okay went through scan and came up with a competing build. AT first I thought they'd be more expensive cos individual prices are higher. But I think they are adding discounts the more I add, cos it actually comes out cheaper than OC UK for this rig at least. Only downside: I don't get the OCZ Blade RAM or the PCP&P 750w PSU (hope this Etsai PSU will do. not sure), or the World in Conflict freebie iwth the processor (but meh)....
But if I wont have to deal with those horror stories of OC UK service then it's all worth it. Any advice on this will be appreciated.
Note that here I've added the 3d visino bundle (£100 more)so it is actually CHEAPER than the OC UK one above. (OC UK iwth the glasses + delivery comes to £1128)

Yeah I think you're right. If I balance both sides of the fence and try to minimize what I buy off OC UK, i can still get all the good parts, and get a sweet price too. thanks man!
I'll also give ebuyer a look, but definitely couldnt find all the parts i wanted when i looked earlier.
anyway, here's how it stands so far:
