I have a Mercury KOB KT266a FDSX Motherboard with 1GB of 2100DDR memory and an AMD Athlon 1.3Ghz cpu with a 256Mb DDR Geforce6200. I was given a cpu model: AXMJ2800FHQ4C and was wondering if I could install and flash bios to make it work. I tried just installing it and it only detects it at 1100mhz but seems to be running much faster than the 1.3 originally installed. Please any info would be helpful. Thanks

Flashing the bios is risky; most bios updates don't allow the motherboard chipset to run more fsb; socket 462 athlons come in many flavors; your board may not support the cpu fsb required for the new cpu.
