Hello, the other day i got two 3870 hd graphics cards 1 is 512mb ddr4 and th other is 1024mb ddr3 both diamond series my motherboard is a asrock 780gxe/128m which is crossfire ready but in crossfire they run at 8x + 8x and all my games dropped in quality i play conan, crysis, world at war and fallout 3 eq2 as well but with the 2 cards running i could only run conan on low crysis on med but with noticeable glitches in both if i went any higher, pulled the 3870 hd 512mb one out and now i can run everything on high no problems so if someone could help understand why it was worse with 2 cards it would be greatly appreciated.
So do i need a new motherboard with 2 pci e x16 2.0 slots will that resolve the issue???
Please help,
thanks stcboaz

Not only has your pci-e lane cut down from 16x to 8x/8x, but when you crossfire two cards and one has 512mb and the other 1gb, the 1gb card can only use 512mb to match the other card. I'm assuming your probably using a resolution that needs more vram?
Regardless of motherboard, your 1gb card is now only a 512mb card. Not only that, I highly doubt your X2 6000 than keep up with both cards.
