AM3/AM2 Mobo

Can a mobo that has AM3/AM2 be used with a AMD Phenom X3 720 BE processor? I mainly want to use DDR2 ram (dont have enough for DDR3 ram). Any help would be appreciated.

  2. I'm thinking around $80-$130.
  3. I'm running an ASRock 790GX AM2+ mobo with a 720BE just fine; my wife has a Gigabyte AM2+ mobo with a 720BE on it.
  4. i don't know if you already have the DDR2 ram, but if you don't ddr3 is actually cheaper now for better quality. ddr2 will continue to rise in price also, so if you are starting from scratch DDR3 is the way to go.
