Basically im looking to buy a graphics card and was wondering wat would be my best choice...now please keep in mind that the psu is only 300W and i am NOT looking to upgrade that (long story). I would love to also play new gen games preferably at 1280 x 1024 if at all possible.

the best card i've found at the moment is HD 4770 ...wat do u lot think any good??

i was also thinking mabey the gtx 260 but don't know if that would work on 300W

any feedback would be much appriceated guys...thanks in advance

The 4670 would also be a good option if you have issues finding the 4770. :D

well i've found both the hd 4770 and hd 4670 but im really confussed as to wether either of them will run on 300W...i've heard good things about how fast the hd 4770 is and how it should be able to max out the most demanding games at 1280 x 1024 but people have said it won't run at 300w...on the other hand other people have said it will run perfectly at 300w?!?...totally confussed don't know what to do...i don't even know if the hd 4770 is the best choice for me like i said before i am a TOTAL newbie

sorry for the delay in a reply. I wouldn't risk a 4770 on the current system unless you plan on a PSU upgrade, I should have clarified that.

The 4670 should suit you just fine though.

thats ok...but is the 4670 a good card...i mean can it run games like gta 4 on max settings on 1280 x 1024??
and is there no bypass to get the 4770 running on 300w...also if i was to buy a gtx 260 what would be the cheapest (good) psu to buy??
thanks in advance mate :)

it will run GTA4 but not on max and it will be around 20-30 fps... bu that also highly depends on the CPU

since your not really pro with hardware, no you can't make 4770 at 300W, and then again undeclocking is counterproductive

a psu for a 260 that is "good" will run you about 70$+

HD 4670 for sure. Even if the 4770 *does* run on your current PSU, you're taking a huge risk in possibly frying everything inside your case in the near future.

Weaker computer > fried computer
