XP Boots When Phone used

I use the shutdown to turn off my PC. If I do not turn of
the power at the rear of the PC and I use my phone or some
one rings me, the PC boots. I have disabled the modem and
this still happens.

Any hints will be appreciated.

entering the bios is a good place to start
however rather than just selecting wake on lan for
disable also select wake on ring and disable it also

actually you only should need to disable wake on ring to
stop the machine from booting when the phone is used for
in or out calls
