Unable to get sound controller for asus

recently i formatted my pc.i lost my sound drivers.i tried to download it frm internet,but in vain.can u pls help me to get these sound drivers back to my pc.

It will be difficult if you don't know what Asus motherboard you have.

Edit: Knowing which OS would also help.

Try Start- Control Panel-System------------------------ to ID OS
Find out mobo-OS then go to manufactuer website to locate drivers for application.
