Not sure, haven't quite used both, but I do use Diskeeper and I give it 5 starts. It gives excellent defragmentation, defrags your page file and MFT zone, does realtime defragmention in the background, consolidates free space, and places similar directories in same places on the hard drive to reduce latency when they are read and stuff. Definitely a performance increase overall. However i can't say anything about O&O defrag...haven't used it.

I used to use O&O but changed to Perfect disk. seems to do a far better job.

auslogics has a free one thats pretty good.

otherwise the 3 mentioned are all lightyears ahead of the windows built in one.

I've used all at one time or another .. currently using o&o because they gave me a free upgrade.. and I dont believe in stealing err pirating software.

I have used all three in the past, but I'm currently running PerfectDisk which seems to be about the best IMO.

Does perfect disk have realtime defragmentation?

Reply to blackhawk1928

As in automatic defrag in the background? Yes PerfectDisk has the 'AutoPilot' feature which performs this.

hmm...which one does a better job though? Diskeeper vs Perfect Disk? Anyone who has used both have any opinoins? And please judge them by how well they actually defragment your hard drive, not how much they cost or how much ram or how much space they consume and all that BS, just how well they actually defragment.
