I'm using a stock amd cpu cooler/heatsink that came with the phenom and it's driving me nuts with the noise it makes. I haven't OC anything and i guess the case i'm using doesn't really help on noise reduction due to the amount of vents it has (Coolermast HAF full tower).
I'm new to the computer building, so i'm way in over my head ^^;;
I was wondering if many of the experts/builder/modders can share
their experience with me. There are sooooo many choices out there.
I looked up newegg reviews, and it's driving me crazy ~
Please someone help~ ~~

IMO, noctua make the best silent fans.

but in my rig i have a Tuniq Tower 120 heatsink. it keeps my phenom II nice an cool at 3.8ghz and i cant hear the fan at all (at least not over the top of my fairly loud case fans).

but pick up a decent cooler like the tuniq 120, scythe mugen II or TRUE and wack a noctua ultra silent 120mm fan on there. throw a few in the case too and you should have a cool running and near silent PC.

i dont worry toom uhc about the noise of my system, sicne i always have a set of surround sound headphones on when im using it. but if you do want silence, noctua is probably the way to go.
