Hi , i recently built a new system and i am having some problems :

Build :

ANTEC 1200 casing
Evga X58 E757 Mainboard
Intel Core i7 D0
6GB Corsair dominator CL8 1600mhz
ocz Vertex 60gb
3 WD caviar balck 1TB
CoolerMaster V8
Bluray rewriter
Dvd+-R writer
Sapphire Vapor-X Toxic Hd4890
Asus Xonar STX

I am currently using a Viewsonic 17'' monitor for 3-4 months till i get the DX 11 cards and get a 32'' one

I went to the bios..i put ( dummy overclocking - on )

I changed only the ram setting to xmp 1 ..it automatically o'c my processor to 3.2ghz..but the pc keeps restarting.
My processor and ram are running @ default settings

How to o'c my i7 to 3.2ghz atleast and ram to 1600mhz safely ?

Is there any good and reliable program to check the temperature of all my parts ?

On the mainboard there is a cpu temp display ..

When i first put it ..it stayed 23 for a few seconds then went on drastically to 45 , 72 , 85
FInally it remains @ 7F

What does the 7F means...?

I installed a vista ultimate x64 and had some problems :

1 . Cant get resolution above 1280*1024

I thought it was the screen but i had managed to get better resolution on an xp x64
Viewsonic 17'' monitor
Screen was VGa only so i had to use the DVI converter that came with the sapphire radeon hd4890

2. When stating pc and running 3d benchmark ..both detects all my hard disks bt when i click on my computer i get only the ocz vertex and 1 WD 1tb
When i should be getting 1 ocz vertex and 3 WD hard disk

3. Should i stick with vista or use the latest windows 7 Rc x64 ?

What other difference bet windows x86 and x64 except that the x32 detects only 4gb ram?

Thanks

I have a 5.9 Windows Exprerience Index

Is that ok or should it have been better for that system ?

17" doesn't really tell me anything about your monitor. CRT? LCD? Model number?

7F is probably an error code.

Some utilities
CPU-Z
Real Temp
HWMonitor

Do you have a RAID configured?

5.9 is the max WEI.

reseat your heatsink, you have temp problems.

17" monitors max out at 1280x1024 so you can't go any higher, but why are you using such a rubbish monitor with such a powerful build anyway.

Viewsonic 17'' Lcd VA702

Is the EVGA E-Leet that came with the motherboard reliable ?

Reply to Viruzzz

CNET says the max resolution is 1280x1024 for that monitor.

Damn...i need to get the 32'' sooner

Urgent :

Vista Ultimate x64 Sp2
or
WIndows 7 build 7264 ( or another build ) x64

There are no 32" monitors that I know of. If you are getting a 32" TV, then you will be limited to 1920 X 1080.

Get Vista with a free upgrade to Windows 7:

If you want a 32" screen, I think that's great. I just wanted to point out that they don't have any greater resolution than a 24" monitor. You were referring to screen size rather than resolution.

Your video card doesn't care how big the screen is, just what resolution is needed.

32" TV: 1920 x 1080
24" monitor: 1920 x 1080 OR 1920 X 1200

sorry to bump in, but when lets say a monitor is 1920x1080 does that mean it can also be lowered to 1680x1024 when playing games

Get a gaming monitor there are several available if you want a higher resolution than 1080, they are 30" standard and are a max of 2560x1600. Something smaller on sale is Newegg has 24hr deal on a 27" Hanns-G on Newegg for $299 and is a 3ms, HDMI in, 1920x1200 resolution. The 2560x1600 monitors are a BIG jump in price (from Dell, Apple, and a Nice LG here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824005115 at only $1,150.

You can write off getting a 30" if you also plan on having a TV Tuner, Blu-ray drive, etc. as thats a nice size for any bedroom.

EDIT: to K1ash3r, most games have 1920x1080 as a resolution to select from, I can't think of any new game that doesn't. If not you can run at ANY resolution, just change the Aspect Ratio (in the game menu) to 16:9

Yep...by going to display setting you can change to other resolution..

Do anyone know any good windows for a powerful system?

What difference bet. 64-bit and 32-bit except :

The 32-bit detects only 4gb Ram
64-bit color

I dnt realy like the windows x64 as the colors arent that good ....like white spots across the screen,..The 32-bit have better colors

@viruzzz, you know that's illegal, right?

x64 changes the memory interface, not colour interface.

wats hj Join and what do i need it for?.

Reply to K1ash3r

once again, if you download that you will be downloading illegal material, you have not bought the software.

if you want vista x64 then either get it off MSDN or buy it, otherwise I'm pretty sure any other method of getting it from a consumers perspective is illegal.

im just downloading the vist in case my win 7 doesnt work because I wasted like 9 DVD's before i finaly got the win 7 on a DVD.

Reply to K1ash3r

^ it's still illegal, no matter what reason.

Hey i'm having problems with mt pc...worked well for some time...temp around 22 degrees ..then suddenly blue screen ..physical memory dumping
Then pc restart and says windows cannot start ..insert windows cd and press repair etc....
My mainboard makes ticking sound ..i thought it was my graphic cards whick the 4 very small light went on and off but even after removing graphic cards and sound card ..still get the ticking noise..

The cpu temperature screen on the mainboard shows f3 , f6 etc instead of 20 degrees....HELP PLZZZZZ

Reply to Viruzzz

The f3/f6 are

Post Port Debug LED and LED Status Indicators
Post Port Debug LED
Provides two-digit POST codes to show why the system may be failing to boot. It is useful during troubleshooting situations. This Debug LED will also display current CPU temperatures after the system has fully booted into the Operating System.

BUT I CANT FIND THE TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE TO THESE CODES>>>>>>
