Hello Fellow Tomsters.....

I have an 2y/old low-end cpu w/ this specs.

2.66 Celeron D LGA
Foxconn P4M890m2ma
1Gb DDR2
80Gb WD
500w
7200GS 256mb 64bit

Problem 1: Working on system boot BUT, Very Slow performance in Gaming like "WC III (Dota), and some mid specs Online games"....

Problem 2: Upon seeing these problem I've decided to reformat it, but in the preparing set-up on win XP the CPU always Hangs/stock-up(numLock freezes)

Already done:
Cleaned
Fulled out in the casing
Change Optical drive "sata/IDE"
Change Memory "533/667"
Change Cables "Sata/IDE"
Disabled Onboard Lan and USB

Thanks for reading and hope anyone can help me.....

Recommendations are welcome:

Commonly available Mobos in our country "which is a better brand"
gigabite
asus
ecs
foxconn
redfox
biostar
asrock
the rest is out of my mind......

Let me just re-arrange those for you:

gigabite /asus
foxconn
asrock
biostar
ecs
( redfox ) ??? No idea at all

There you go. That is the way I would rank those boards. Others might disagree on points, but this is generally the way it goes.

You need more memory and a better processor.

Theres no problem on the memory and processor this CPU in its early days run smoothly and it can even play dual-client online game like Flyff and Perfect world and play GTA San Andreas in High Settings. Now playing warcraft III is laggy/slow even in low settings....

@Proximon === Thanks for Reading and for the info....

Why don't you use WD's drive utility to run diagnostics, wipe and format the drive? This would take the windows "format" out of the loop. I have found that a lot of times on a freeze during install is caused by a dirty or scratched install disc....

@Proximon.... good arrange on mobo's..... +1
