One Quick Question

Hey guys i got a quick question. I have a PSU and a 120mm fan, is it safe to plug just the fan to the PSU and turn it on, cause I wanna see my LED's =)
Same thing with my PSU and motherboard. Can I lets say install my CPU onto my motherboard and my CPU cooler and than plug in the 24pin and 8pin connecters and turn the PSU switch on to see my CPU fan spin on the outside of the case to make sure it works. Will this be safe as well

so long as its a molex 4 pin on the fan it will be fine

Some motherboards depend on having a fan plugged into the 3/4 pin cpu fan header.

You might have to plug in your 12v ATX connector.
