Everyone know the 965 is a 955 with a 200mhz increase and a higher tdp. I have have a 955, and i know i culd just bump the multiplier to get the same speeds, but i decided to underclock at first to get massive temp reductions. I then thought i should try to reach 3.4 at a lower than stock voltage (of the 955). This way i'd have an equally powerful chip as the 965 that stays much cooler than both. So i randomly set the coltage down to 1.25 (1.24 in cpuz) and raised the multiplier to 17x to get 3.4ghz, and....:
28-30C idle, 45C LOAD!!! :D
and most of all..... stable! :)

I just thought id share it with you all so you could benefit. BTW i used OCCT for an hour to test, and usually if its unstable an hour will do.

P.S: i just compared cinebench rendering times at 3.2 and 3.4ghz and-
3.2- 1:07
3.4- 0:58
- both on 4 core rendering

thats pretty shwing.

you may want to run 4 thread wPrime for a while though (like 8 hours plus) since voltage deficencies can cause lock ups much later down the line than you might expect.

but GG all the same.

ya i was gonna run more extensive tests but ill save that for tomorrow since i'll have more time.
