M acer says operating system not found

my acer travel mate 2300 wont turn on, and says media test failure, exiting pxe rom operating system not found. is there any way to fix this problem?

You may want to try entering the BIOS when you power-on, by pressing the F1, F10, or DEL key - I can't remember which one. Find the tab/screen that allows you to reset the BIOS settings to the "default" settings. Then save the changes and exit. That will re-set the BIOS settings to the default for 1st boot device, etc.
