I just got this one as I said. Did some research and there really wasn't much difference between other cards. Is the 9800GTX+ really that much better. BTW I am NOT going to shell out the dough for a 260 or higher!

Is the 8800gts your mentioning the old g80 core or g92? how much memory?
If its the old g80 core then upgrading to a 9800gtx+ will show some improvement but i would recommend to jump on a 4870/gtx260.
Whats your budget?

if its ether 320 or 640 mb edition... it will make quite a difference, otherwise stick with the 512 and wait for the next set (oh yeh instead of 9800GTX+ or 250... go with the HD 4850 winkwink)

Do I honestly need to upgrade though?!?! This card runs every game I have on max. Only reason why I asked is because someone said to me that the 9800 was just way better. I figured he was saying that because that is what he had... Just wanted to know if I made a mistake.

If it runs all your games fine why upgrade? No reason to. Only upgrade if you feel your not enjoying the games on your rig. Save your money and when the times comes for a new graphic card; that would justify the money spent on a new card. That guy doesn't know much about video cards and just wants to brag. If you overclock your 8800gts it would compete with his card fairly. You should tell him that! =D

For the record, I'm still using my 8800GTS-640 with my 22" 1680x1050 monitor. Have no complaints and no reason to upgrade at this point. Of course, I'm not the kind of guy that HAS to have EVERY setting at max. As long as the game is smooth and enjoyable, I'm happy.
