Just noticed this 950 watt piece of sexiness and wanted to know if anyone has picked it up yet and how it performs?

Looks like it was released on October 6th and seems like great value for $169.99.

I doubt there will be much of a market for that model mainly because the Corsair TX750 is quite capable of powering an overclocked Intel Core i7 920 system with two video cards operating in dual mode. Might be different for a very high end gamer using three video cards or someone who wants bragging rights.

The numbers on it are rock solid, reviews coming soon from JonnyGURU and [H]OCP.

XMSYellowbeard - I absolutely, positively, don't doubt it. I would expect nothing less from Corsair. I just don't know who the target audience might be. Typically gamers use only one or two video cards. Can you shed some light on that?

Johnny - I think it appeals to me since I'll be running an overclocked i-920 w/ two 5850's along with a TV tuner and a few other gadgets.

I think more than anything it gives me the piece of mind of knowing that I'll have enough power by a great manufacturer and that I have room to expand if need be.

I was looking at the 1000HX for a while but couldn't justify the $230 price point. This just seems like a great alternative.

blotkis - On the other hand the official ATI recommendation for a system with two 5850's or 5870's is a 600 watt power supply with 40 amps on the 12 volt rail(s). That's for the entire system. Testing during technical reviews supports the recommendation. Those cards are a little more energy efficient and we're going to see more energy efficient cards in the future.

NOTE - There was one technical review where 668 watts was drawn at the wall outlet (mains) during a gaming session at peak but it was not for an overclocked Intel Core i7 920 system with two 5870's. It was for an overclocked Intel Core i7 970 Extreme system that few people can afford. Last time I looked the cpu alone cost just under $1,000.00 It was not a typical situation.

Thanks for the heads up.
@XMS: Are the internal (PCB,etc) design a fresh design or is it based off of the 1000/850/750s?

I actually don't know the OEM design the 950 is based on. I'm so busy with a current project I have not checked it out much. As far as target audience, this PSU fits in nicely between our 750/850 models and the HX1000. 2 GPU users, HEAVY benchmark guys, etc.
