Hi,

I am building a new gaming rig for myself and I am thinking of getting 12GB of Crucial Ballistix Tracer 1600 memory. How good is this memory for i7 920 overclocking. Will it allow me to hit a target of 3.8 - 4ghz on the i7 920? Will it run stable?

Thanks, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well at $188 for CAS 8, it's no bargain.

here's CAS 7 for same price:

As for what works in what, it's pretty much a crap shoot. Have you checked the MoBo vendors QVL (qualified vendor list) ? If it's on there, at leats you know it has been tested.

The 10 newegg reviews are all positive but most of the raves were reserved for the blinky LED's :)
