Would it be ok to burn 2 dvd's at the same time?

I do a lot of dvd-video burning with dvd-r discs using nero burning rom. I have a internal asus dvd writer and also a lg external dvd writer. I was wondering if it wouldn't put too much stress on my system to have two nero burning rom applications open so i can burn two dvd's at the same time? This will get my job done twice as fast. Just wanted to know if it's ok to do.

my computer is running AMD Athlon II X4 3Ghz cpu with 6gb's RAM.

if it works, it might be faster but not double since both burning sections will use your hard drive.
