What i7 motherboard do I really need?

Hi, I'm building a new rig with either an i7 860 or an i7 920 (still haven't decided and willing to hear anyone's screams of support for either). I know next to nothing about motherboards and I don't know how much I really have to spend to get one that will let me comfortably overclock my i7 a little bit.

I know the 860 and the 920 are different sockets. I was looking at an ASUS P6T WS PRO LGA 1366 ($299) mobo if I get the 920, versus an ASUS P7F-X LGA 1156 mobo ($175) for the 860. These were picked SOLELY because I found Newegg combo deals with them.

This question is probably more than annoying at this point in the i7's history, but take pity on me: Can I get cheaper/better motherboards for the 860 or 920? What is the cheapest decent motherboard I can get for the 860 or the 920 that will let me do a bit of overclocking?

I am planning on using OCZ Gold 6 GB RAM and a GeForce 9800 GTX graphics card or something similar in an Antec 300 illusion.

Feel free to inform and/or attack me.

More about what motherboard need
  1. Within ns of posting I found a plethora of partial answers to my question. At least, for the 920, I could get an ASUS P6T SE for $185 which is much cheaper than the P6T WS PRO.

Still though, I don't know if there's something better out there.
