First Build and I want to learn about overclocking

I just built myself a new PC, and would like to know what people think about this system. I would also like to know how to overclock a computer.

I paid 738 for all of this, I hope it was well spent on some quality components, let me know what you think.

Are you sure to use Stock Cooling ... ? Overclock will safely use After market cooler !
get aftermarket cooler like Hyper 212 + (cheap ) or Noctua/Silver Arror ( Monster )

I have a total of 8 fans on my system, five on the case, one on the power supply, one on the video card, and one on the processor. Isn't that enough cooling? There seems to be a lot of air moving around inside the case.

8Fan case not enough, it just little help for ambient + air Flow. while the CPU cooler direct contact with the chip, it will cool the CPU Chip (this is important )

I agree just get you a 212+ or the silver arrow if your gonna be OCing.....case fans matter a lot less that the HSF

I guess the first question I should have asked is do I really even need to overclock to just enjoy a few games, and have a system that is fast? I must tell you that this computer is a gigantic jump from my laptop that was running windows 7 with only 4 GB ram, and 110 GB HD. The laptop is a toshiba A135-S4427 just to give you an idea of what I was using.

So I really don't know if I need the overclocked power or not, what is your advice on this issue?

game play does not need to overclock, just make sure the VGA Highend that will be used to play. system you use already qualified for heavyweights such as Crysis Game, and your VGA is HD 6790 is good

What is overclocking really used for, I am somewhat new, but do have some computer knowledge, just need more.

OCing increases FPS in games by eliminating "bottlenecks" between the CPU and the GPU

- overclock is used with a low cost system on it and you will get the same level above
exp. 1055T Oc to 3.6Ghz (cheaper price ) and 1100 default it will same get performance or maybe 1055T will be faster than it.
- overclock is used to improve performance ( like above )
- overclock is used for the competition (who became king)
