While angrily browsing through the BIOS today I noticed my core speed was at 3166.6mhz, and everest reported this as a 6% Overclocked CPU. The CPU is an Intel QX9650 at default voltage (bios AUTO). I have never even attempted to overclock this CPU, but it's multiplier was set to 9.5 and I know I haven't touched it.
My system is unstable to the point of being useless. It freezes at random (no BSOD) and I have to manually restart it. Can this cause system instability? and with the voltage set to Auto, can it cause problems?
System: QX9650 on Nforce 790i ultra (P08), 4x1gb RAM Linked and Synced, P1 & P2 enabled GPU : Radeon 5870 (Switched from 9800 GX2, but the problem still persists).
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!
EDIT:
I forgot to mention, my core temps are: 36 / 36 / 32 / 32
