Will a PCI-e x4 device work in a PCI-e x 16 slot?

I want to install a RevoDrive SSD in my desktop PC. The RevoDrive is normally installed in a PCI-e X4 slot. Although my motherboard (Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7) has four PCI-e X16 slots, it has no PCI-e X4 slots at all.

Will the RevoDrive function normally in one of my vacant PCI-e X16 slots?

The answer to your question is yes.

A PCI-e x16 slot is backwards compatible. No problem.

The RevoDrive will function normally. No problem.
