Oddball resolution to HDTV

How do I get my Dell laptop (D400) to output in 1366x768 to my 37" HDTV? That's the native resolution of the TV but when I hook them up it will only connect in 1024x768 or poorer. Is this possible to accomplish without writing my own driver? TIA - JR

BTW, the video chipset is Intel 82852/5.

How are you connecting to the TV? Some TV's limit the input from VGA to 1024x768.

Yes, I'm connecting via a VGA cable into the VGA input. I even contacted Vizio tech support, who were not helpful at all ("Contact your computer manufacturer"). Seems like they could have said "it's not possible" or something... - JR
