I recently finished assembling my new i7 system. I just had two questions regarding the Xigmatek DK Heatsink.

1. Which direction should I install the DK cooler, i.e. should i install with heatsink fan cooling bottom up or front to back.

2. Do I need to apply the Mylar adhesive to back of plate also. Right now I've only applied it to the corners of plate which touches Mobo as listed in install instructions.

Your responses would be very much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

My System:
Intel Core i7 920
OCZ Platinum 6 GB
Gigabyte UD4P X58
GTX 275
WD Black 640 GB and 1 TB
Antec 900 II
Corsair 650 W
Xigmatec Dark Knight
Windows 7 RC 64-bit

alishaan....

1.) I would recommend installing the DK cooler front to back since that is how the air flows through the Antec 902 case

2.) Yes... just apply the corners per the instructions for the Socket 1366.

Also, I would highly recommend reading this thread... Some notes on applying thermal paste to the Xigmatek

tecmo34 thanks for your quick reply. Just to make sure, I don't have to apply the adhesive to back of the plate?

And thanks for the article link, that helped alot. Many thanks again

I doubt you'll find much difference between those two fan directions because in both cases the air is blowing towards an exhaust.

The adhesive is needed only on the back plate surfaces that are in contact with the motherboard surface, as you have it now.

Thanks for your response hecto. I'll leave the direction of fan as it is for now.
