Hi guys,

I am about to order a PC. I will have i7 2600K and I wan't to be able to overclock it properly. Now, from what I've read I would need p67 or z68 chip set Motherboard. The problem is that a guy from a PC store is insisting that 'MSI H67MA-E35' Motherboard will do.

Please advise.

Some extra info on M/B: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H67MA-E35.html#?div=Overview

you can overclock with a H67 motherboard through turbo boost. and its limited. the BCK is locked.

P67 & Z68 chipsets is the one you are looking for if you want to overclock.

You can also increase the bclock (ie from 100->104) - DON'T
(1) You will NOT see any performance impovement as this would only be a 4 % increase in CPU speed. Need more than a 10->15% increase to ever tell the difference.
(2) This also increase the freq to your pci-e circuit and possibly "Screw" it up. Would also increase the freq to memory by 16 Mhz (probable no adverse effect on memory)

A SB CPU should only be OCed by changing the Muliplier, which is not allowed on H67 MBs
